Privacy Policy for Curio Courier
Effective September 12, 2026.
Curio Courier is a puzzle game from Jared Kaczynski. This policy describes the app's local storage, optional Apple services, advertising, and support workflow.
Information on your device
The app stores puzzle arrangements, route progress, earned items, preferences, and recovery checkpoints locally. If you enable local diagnostics, the app keeps a bounded journal of game and service outcomes for at most 30 days or 5,000 events. Diagnostics do not upload automatically. You can preview and delete them in Settings.
Optional private iCloud backups
If you enable progress backup, completed-route progress is stored in your private iCloud database so you can restore it on another Apple device. Apple handles the account and service information required for those requests. Curio Courier does not operate an app server or support console that can read individual private backups. Local play and local saves do not require iCloud.
Advertising and consent
The app uses Google Mobile Ads to show occasional full-screen ads between completed routes and Google's User Messaging Platform to request and remember privacy choices where required. The app does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission and does not request access to the IDFA. Google's bundled privacy manifest nevertheless declares that another device identifier may be linked and used for tracking.
Google's advertising SDK may automatically process an IP address to estimate general location; crash and performance diagnostics; app- or developer-bounded device identifiers; ads viewed; and app or ad interactions. Depending on the data type, Google's bundled privacy manifests declare uses for third-party advertising, developer advertising, analytics, app functionality, and tracking. Processing is subject to the user's consent choices and applicable law. Curio Courier does not operate its own advertising or analytics server and does not receive a user-level advertising profile.
When Google requires a consent message, the app asks before requesting ads. Eligible users can reopen Google's privacy choices from Settings. Google's handling of advertising data is also described in Google's Privacy Policy.
Optional on-device stories
Where supported and enabled, Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework may vary fictional customer dialogue. Prompts use fictional game information. No remote AI fallback or transcript upload is used. Authored text remains available; AI never controls advertising, rewards, or puzzle outcomes.
Permissions and sharing
Notification permission is requested only when you enable a local reminder. Denial leaves reminders off. The game does not request contacts, precise location, camera, microphone, Apple's advertising identifier, or photo-library read access. Google Mobile Ads may infer general location from the network address and use other app- or developer-bounded identifiers as described above. You choose save files through the system file picker and export files through the system share sheet.
When you choose to share a save, challenge, or diagnostic file, the recipient's privacy practices apply. Review files before sharing. Opening support or privacy links makes an ordinary web request to GitHub Pages, whose hosting practices apply.
Support messages
If you email support, we receive your email address and the message or attachments you choose to send and use them to respond. GitHub support issues are public. Do not include Apple Account details or other personal information in a public issue. The app never sends email automatically.
Deletion and retention
Reset progress clears local gameplay data but does not change optional iCloud backups. Delete saved diagnostics removes the optional local journal. Exported copies remain wherever you saved or shared them.
Delete iCloud app data separately previews and removes this app's private progress backups after you explicitly confirm. Automatic backup is then turned off on that device. Other devices can create new backups if backup remains enabled there.
Optional progress backups retain the latest three per installation and twenty overall. Removing the app removes its local data, subject to Apple's device backup behavior.
Questions and updates
For questions or requests about information you sent to us, email razrsword@gmail.com. We will update this policy when the app's practices change. See Curio Courier Support for recovery help.
