Folire Support

Folire is a private, local-first reader for iPhone and iPad with comfortable typography, organization, annotations, narration, reading statistics, and optional access to your own network libraries.

Get help

Report a bug, request an accessibility improvement, or ask a product question through the public support tracker. Include the Folire version, device model, iOS or iPadOS version, publication format, and the steps that led to the problem.

Please do not post copyrighted books, passwords, private server addresses, personal annotations, or unreviewed backups. Redact screenshots and diagnostic details before placing them in a public issue.

Supported books

Folire supports DRM-free EPUB, PDF, CBZ, CBR, TXT, FB2, MOBI, and AZW3 files. DRM-protected Kindle, Adobe, or library-loan files cannot be opened. Import from Files, iCloud Drive, an installed Files provider, AirDrop, the iOS share sheet, a direct download address, or an OPDS, Calibre, or WebDAV library you configure.

Import troubleshooting

Confirm that the file has a supported extension and is fully downloaded in its Files provider before importing. If a MOBI or AZW3 book is rejected as DRM-protected, obtain a DRM-free copy from its publisher or bookseller. Folire never removes DRM.

When importing an updated edition, Folire may offer to update the existing book or keep both copies. Updating is designed to preserve position, annotations, organization, and reading history; a complete backup is still recommended before replacing important files.

iCloud sync and complete backups

Optional iCloud library sync stores your book files, reading position, notes, highlights, bookmarks, collections, book details, presets, settings, and reading history in your private iCloud storage. Books imported on one device download when you open them on another. Custom fonts and PDF drawings are not included in library sync. Check Settings → Sync and confirm that iCloud Drive is enabled for Folire on each device.

For a transferable copy of everything, use Settings → Export Complete Library Backup. A complete backup includes books, covers, fonts, PDF drawings, notes, organization, settings, and history. Use Merge Library Backup to restore without deleting newer local items.

Narration, widgets, and network libraries

Spoken narration uses installed Apple voices. If a preferred voice is unavailable, download it in the system's Accessibility spoken-content settings. For widget issues, open Folire once after importing or reading a book, then remove and add the widget again.

For OPDS, Calibre, or WebDAV failures, verify the full HTTP or HTTPS address and sign-in details in a browser or trusted client on the same network. Local HTTP servers may require Local Network access in iOS Settings. Credentials saved by Folire stay in the device Keychain.

Privacy

Folire has no account, advertising, tracking, analytics, or developer-operated server. Read the Folire Privacy Policy for details about local storage, private iCloud sync, user-chosen servers, exports, and deletion.
